Karaoke Faq

Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions that we get. Have a question that’s not listed? Contact us.

1. I have a bad voice, but I want to sing. – We go by the F-it principle. Go up sing and enjoy yourself! Not everyone has that golden voice we all wish we had, (especially me), and we aren’t competing in American Idol. We’re there for a good time so have one. Feel free to ask one of your friends or us to help you through it!

2. How do you determine when I sing? – Your place in the rotation is determined by when you request your first song. If we have not made it through the first rotation, you will be added to the end of the list. Once the rotation has been established, new singers will be added after the next two old singers due up. If there is more than one new singer, they will be put into the roatation as such: old – old – new, until all new singers are added into the rotation. If there are more new singers than old to finish that rotation, the rest of the new singers are added to the bottom of the list. Once you have found your place in the rotation, that’s where you stay.

3. Will tipping you move me up in the rotation? – If you are having a good time and think we are doing a good job, feel free to tip or buy us a drink. Like any other entertainer, we do appreciate it. However, a tip, a drink, or a letter from God will not move you up in the rotation. We strive hard to keep to the rotation and give everyone the same chance of singing. The only time we will go out of rotation is to correct an error we made against a singer concerning rotation.

4. I was predisposed when my turn came around, did you skip me? – Again, we try to be fair. If you are out smoking or nature called, your place in the rotation will be adjusted below the next singer. If you are not present for the next call, we will skip you for that rotation. Please try to be ready for your turn! Being aware of who sings before you is a good way to keep track.

5. I want to do another song, and I haven’t been on stage for a while. – If you don’t have a song requested with us when your turn comes up, then your turn in the rotation will be passed and the request will be filled the next time you come up in rotation. The best way to avoid this is to bring another request up when you come up to sing. We will not chase you to put in your requests.

6. I haven’t been up for an hour! Are you skipping me? – Understand that the average song is 4:00 minutes long. Some longer, some shorter. If there are 20 people in rotation, that is an 80 min wait between your performances. (1 hr 20 mins if you don’t want to do the math.) Please be patient, we will not skip you.

7. The song I want to sing doesn’t fit with the crowd! – Yeah, so… you’re a patron and are there for the same good time. Don’t be shy.. DO IT!!!!! ( Besides we have to teach the young’uns what good music is!!!)
